Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has directed the police to research the alleged disappearance of a 23-year-old youth, Solomon Ikokwu, an indigene of Amangwu Oloko, Ikwuano Native Authorities Space of the state.
In response to his mom, Mrs Onyekachi Ikokwu, the younger man was arrested on September 27, 2025, by members of a disbanded group safety outfit generally known as the Vigilante, on allegations that he had dedicated against the law.
The grieving mom alleged that members of the native safety outfit dragged her harmless son from the household compound, inflicted deep machete cuts on him, and struck him with a moulded block, inflicting him to bleed and vomit blood.
Mrs Ikokwu additional claimed that the safety operatives positioned her son in a wheelbarrow and took his unconscious physique to a riverside, after which he had not been seen since September 27.
She additionally alleged that these liable for the act later returned to assault one other of her sons and threatened to get rid of different members of her household.
Mrs Ikokwu appealed to the federal government and the general public to help in finding her son’s whereabouts, noting that the matter had been reported to the Ikwuano Police Division.
