Lawmaker representing the New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District, Rep Melanie Stansbury described as illegal the US military action in Venezuela.
Trump had earlier declared that the Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his spouse had been “captured on Saturday morning and flown out of the Nation.
The president confirmed a “massive scale strike” carried out by the US forces, as explosions had been reported in Caracas and elsewhere.
However in her response, Rep Melanie in a put up on X, mentioned the military action shouldn’t have been carried out with out the approval of the Congress.
The put up reads, “The White Home is confirming U.S. military operations in Venezuela tonight. Allow us to be clear: these strikes are illegal.
“The President doesn’t have the authority to declare battle or undertake massive-scale military operations with out Congress. Congress should act to rein him in. Instantly”.
