The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has confirmed the discharge of the 24 schoolgirls abducted from Authorities Ladies Complete Secondary Faculty, Maga, in Danko-Wasagu Native Authorities Space of Kebbi State.
Matawalle, who arrived in Kebbi final Friday following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been coordinating with safety businesses to make sure a swift rescue operation. The minister offered common updates on the progress of the operation till the ladies have been efficiently rescued.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Matawalle mentioned,
“Our tactical team has efficiently rescued the abducted college students of Authorities Ladies’ Complete Secondary Faculty, Maga, Kebbi State. This mission was carried out consistent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to make sure their protected return. I commend our safety and intelligence forces for his or her swift response, dedication, and professionalism.”
It was earlier reported that one of many ladies escaped from her captors earlier than the rescue operation. The kidnapping occurred within the early hours of Monday, November 17, when armed males stormed the boarding college, killing the vice principal and abducting 25 college students.
President Bola Tinubu, who welcomed the ladies, mentioned in an announcement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, that he applauded the safety brokers for his or her efforts in securing the liberty of all of the victims abducted by the terrorists.
