Activist Omoyele Sowore, on Thursday, met with Nnamdi Kanu, chief of the Indigenous Folks of Biafra, IPOB.

Sowore held the assembly with Kanu inside the premises of the Abuja Federal Excessive Court docket and disclosed this by way of a video posted on X.

In the course of the assembly, Kanu hugged and greeted Sowore.

In a caption accompanying the video, Sowore wrote: “Lastly, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and I met on the Federal Excessive Court docket immediately. The person is highly effective and unrelenting. We greeted and hugged and the bond is robust! #FreeNnamdiKanuNow.”

On Monday, Sowore had led Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, and his brother, Prince Emmanuel, to a #FreeNnamdiKanu protest in Abuja.

The police dispersed the protest whereas arresting Ejimakor, Prince, and others. They have been arraigned earlier than a Justice of the Peace Court docket in Kuje and remanded in Kuje jail.

In the meantime, Kanu has indicated his intention to defend himself earlier than the Justice James Omotosho-led courtroom on fees bordering on terrorism. This follows the choice of his lead counsel, Kanu Agabi, to withdraw from the trial.

Kanu has been detained since 2021, when he was rearrested in Kenya and subjected to extraordinary rendition again to Nigeria.
