Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, to symbolize President Bola Tinubu on the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
On the summit, Shettima is predicted to advance Nigeria’s agenda on financial cooperation, safety partnerships, local weather financing, and world improvement.
This was said in a launch by the Senior Particular Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Workplace of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, on Friday.
The assertion confirmed that Shettima will have interaction with world leaders and improvement companions all through the summit.
The Vice President’s attendance follows President Tinubu’s last-minute cancellation of his scheduled journey to South Africa on Wednesday, November 19.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
“The Vice President, who arrived on Friday night, is scheduled to interact overseas leaders and improvement companions on points referring to the financial system, safety, and local weather change, amongst others,” the assertion learn.
The President remained in Abuja to obtain high-level safety briefings within the wake of the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the lethal assault on worshippers at a Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State.
The assembly, which is able to happen from November 22 to 23 on the Johannesburg Expo Centre, brings collectively leaders of the world’s 20 largest economies, alongside representatives of the European Union, the African Union, and main worldwide monetary establishments.
Shettima, who touched down at Waterkloof Air Power Base, was obtained by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Financial system, Wale Edun; Chargé d’Affaires, Alexander Ajayi; Consul Normal, Umar Bashir; Defence Adviser, Commodore Ibrahim Ari Gwaska; South Africa’s Chief Director for West Africa, Nyameko Goso; and Small Enterprise Growth Minister, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, amongst different officers.
