At the very least seven journalists have died, whereas 4 others sustained accidents in a single deadly street accident involving a Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ bus in Gombe State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Monday night because the journalists had been coming back from a marriage ceremony in Gombe South senatorial district.
The victims had been a part of a delegation that had travelled to honour a colleague, an worker of the Nigerian Tv Authority, who was getting married.
Confirming the incident, the Gombe State Sector Commander of the Federal Highway Security Corps l, Samson Kaura, mentioned, “From the knowledge out there to us, 11 folks had been concerned in the crash. Sadly, seven of them died on the spot, whereas 4 others sustained various levels of accidents.”
In accordance with him, preliminary findings point out that the accident was a lone crash, doubtless brought on by a tyre burst.
