Rivers lawmakers return N100,000 transferred to their accounts by Fubara


Members of the Rivers State Home of Meeting have returned a N100,000 money present from the state governor, Sim Fubara.

The cash was transferred to their private accounts on the directions of Fubara.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by Hon. Enemi Aabo George, chairman of the Home Committee on Info, Petitions and Complaints.

In accordance to the assertion: “Immediately, the thirtieth day of December 2025, Honourable members of the tenth Rivers State Home of Meeting acquired financial institution credit score alerts of the sum of 100 thousand naira every.

“The mentioned unsolicited and unapproved quantity was transferred on the directions of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara, to the non-public accounts of members.

“Upon discovery of those unsolicited and unapproved transfers, Honourable members of the Home took quick steps to formally return the mentioned funds to the account of the Rivers State Authorities.

“As an establishment established by regulation and guided strictly by the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Rivers State Home of Meeting maintains that every one public expenditures should observe due course of, together with legislative approval.

“The governor, since assuming workplace in 2025, has constantly drawn from the Consolidated Income Account of Rivers State with out legislative approval, regardless of repeated warnings from the Home, judgements of the Supreme Courtroom, and in defiance of the Structure and ideas of separation of powers.”

This comes amid renewed hostilities with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
