A DSS operative, who testified as sixth prosecution witness (PW-6) within the ongoing terrorism trial of Mamu, made the disclosure to Justice Mohammed Umar on Thursday, whereas being cross-examined by the defence counsel, Johnson Usman, SAN.

The lawyer had requested the witness, who gave his testimony behind a witness display for safety causes, “to verify to courtroom if any of the rescue victims, together with the spouse of the Commandant in Jaji, made any criticism against the defendant to the DSS.”

Responding, the witness stated: “Sure, my lord.”

When Usman additional requested the witness if the criticism by the rescued victims was both in writing or oral, he stated it was in writing.

The DSS’ lawyer, David Kaswe, nonetheless, prayed the courtroom to restrain Usman from delving into questions that may contact on the identification of victims or witnesses within the case for the reason that courtroom had granted safety to all.

“Lastly, did you interviewed Hannafi of Defence Navy Intelligence,” the lawyer requested and the witness responded within the damaging.

“Affirm to courtroom, whether or not at any time in the middle of your investigation, you introduced members of the Chief of Defence Workers (CDS) Committee for interview within the presence of the defendant,” Usman requested and the witness responded within the damaging.
