Tragedy struck on Tuesday afternoon in Zugai village, Roni Native Authorities Space of Jigawa State, when an overhead water tank collapsed on residents who had gathered to fetch water, killing 4 girls, together with a pregnant girl, and injuring others.
The tank, which provides water from a solar-powered borehole, reportedly gave manner whereas dozens of villagers had been standing beneath it.
An eyewitness, Imrana Miko, informed newsmen that the tank immediately crashed whereas the victims had been fetching water.
