Pressure is excessive in Ugbema community, Benue State following experiences that native elders ordered the expulsion of a closely pregnant widow accused of shoplifting.
Eyewitnesses stated the lady, who not too long ago misplaced her husband, had allegedly been stealing small home items from native retailers in an try to feed herself, her younger son, and her unborn baby.
Her ordeal reportedly started early on Saturday morning when some youths apprehended her and subjected her to public humiliation underneath the scorching solar.
Community sources disclosed that after the incident, the elders instructed the youths to escort the lady out of Ugbema as punishment for her alleged theft.
