The Niger State Police Command has arrested four suspects in reference to a sequence of motorcycle thefts throughout the state.
In a press release launched on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrests and detailed how operatives tracked down the suspects in separate operations.
In line with Abiodun, the primary incident occurred on October 3, 2025, round 9 p.m., when a resident, 23-year-old Michael Isah of the BYJ space, Kwamba, allegedly fled along with his buddy’s TVS motorcycle with registration quantity ABJ 402 MV, valued at over ₦1 million.
Police operatives connected to Maje Division have been instantly alerted, and the next day, October 4, round 11:30 a.m., officers recovered the stolen motorcycle from Abubakar Sadiq Mutawakil of Kwamba, who was reportedly searching for a purchaser for it.
“He was promptly arrested and confessed to the crime, resulting in the arrest of the principal suspect, Michael Isah, who gave him the motorcycle for disposal,” Abiodun acknowledged.
In a separate operation, on October 2, 2025, round 4:30 p.m., officers connected to ‘A’ Division, Bida, arrested 23-year-old Adamu Mohammed from the Masaba space of Bida with a TVS motorcycle (GWA 346 VZ) suspected to have been stolen.
“Throughout interrogation, the suspect confessed that he stole the motorcycle from Ndasako village in Wushishi Native Authorities Space.
“The rightful proprietor was contacted and confirmed the theft. The suspect has since been charged to court docket,” the PPRO mentioned.
That very same day, at about 8 a.m., operatives from the Katcha Division arrested Abubakar Mohammed of Gudungu village by way of Agaie whereas using an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle with out a key alongside the Agaie–Katcha street.
“He confessed to stealing the motorcycle from Cheche village in Katcha. The case remains to be underneath investigation,” Abiodun added.
The police spokesman assured the general public that every one suspects could be prosecuted after investigations are accomplished.
