Dangote Refinery has reacted to allegations by European petroleum merchandise consumers and importers that its diesel didn’t meets winter specs and has sulfur ranges above tolerance.
This comes amid a report printed by Argus Media and likewise obtainable on Oilprice.com that prompt that Europe consumers and importers shunned Dangote Diesel as a result of it doesn’t meet winter specs.
“Dangote can’t provide winter diesel, at current, to the colder areas [of Europe],” the media reported, quoting a Nigerian supply.

However, reacting to the event, the spokesperson of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, mentioned the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery doesn’t produce winter diesel.
“Winter Diesel just isn’t in our portfolio. “We don’t want winter spec. We’re a tropical nation,” Chiejina mentioned.
In the meantime, in an announcement in 2024, Dangote Group, in an announcement quoting Devakumar Edwin, the Vice President of Oil and Gasoline at Dangote Industries, had mentioned that Dangote Refinery exported 90 % of its jet gasoline and diesel to Europe.
