Widespread Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has apologised to veteran filmmaker Afeez Owo following their heated change on social media.
The reconciliation happened on Wednesday night at actor Odunlade Adekola’s film premiere. In a now-viral video, Wumi approached Afeez, knelt down and apologised for insulting him.
She mentioned, “I’m sorry, sir. Please forgive me”.
Afeez, who initially tried to keep away from her, lifted her up after she went on her knees and hugged her.
DAILY POST stories that Wumi Toriola had, two months in the past, publicly criticised Afeez for discussing her character throughout an interview on the African A-Record podcast. Afeez had mentioned the actress’s roles in movies had been “related to her character in actual life”, including that “violence is her consolation zone”.
In response, Wumi, in a now-deleted video on her Instagram web page, berated the veteran actor, describing the interview as “garbage”.
Many social media customers criticised the actress, insisting that Afeez’s evaluation was correct. Following the net backlash, Wumi Toriola was reportedly admitted to hospital.
