The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has introduced an emergency meeting to debate the proposed Nigeria Social Insurance coverage Belief Fund, NSITF Invoice.
The announcement was made in a discover by the union spokesperson, Benson Upah, on Wednesday.
The only agenda of the meeting is to deliberate on the NSITF invoice, which has undergone its second studying within the Nigerian Senate. The invoice, aimed toward amending the NSITF Act, has been strongly rejected by the NLC on the grounds that it’s ill-motivated.
Talking to DAILY POST on the NLC’s stance relating to the invoice, Upah stated, “We’re strongly against the invoice, it’s ill-motivated, ill-advised and can spell doom for the letter and spirit of what NISTF should be.”
