Troops of the Nigerian Military’s 12 Brigade have efficiently rescued six kidnapped individuals from bandits working inside the Ejiba and Saminaka forests in Yagba East Native Authorities Space of Kogi State.
The operation was confirmed in an announcement issued Tuesday in Lokoja by the Brigade’s spokesperson, Lt. Hassan Abdullahi.
In response to Abdullahi, the rescue mission was a part of intensified navy operations geared toward tackling the rising threats of banditry and kidnapping in the state.
He mentioned the coordinated operation concerned each air and floor offensives, with help from a Nigeria Police helicopter.
He revealed that the sustained navy strain compelled the bandits to desert their captives.
“5 of the rescued victims have already been reunited with their households in Egbe and Ejiba, whereas the sixth is presently receiving medical care,” Abdullahi mentioned.
The Brigade reaffirmed its dedication to making sure the security of residents throughout Kogi State, pledging to take care of aggressive patrols, clear forest hideouts, and restrict the motion and operational capability of legal teams.
The rescue follows Sunday’s assault on a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba group, the place bandits kidnapped the pastor and several other worshippers.
