The Kebbi state command of the Nationwide drug legislation enforcement company (NDLEA) has destroyed greater than 25 tonnes of seized illicit drugs in a significant public train.
The destruction befell on Saturday at Kolar space in Birnin Kebbi and included 16,951.105kg of hashish, 8,093.381kg of tramadol, 336.978kg of Akuskura (THC), 0.027kg of cocaine, and small quantities of methamphetamine.
Deputy director of basic operations at NDLEA Headquarters, Muhammed Usman, represented the company’s Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), on the occasion. Usman stated the destruction adopted a Federal Excessive Courtroom order in Birnin Kebbi and was in line with the NDLEA Act.

Kebbi state NDLEA Commander, Rabiu Abdullahi Sokoto, warned that the state’s strategic location makes it a transit level for traffickers. “Our porous borders with Niger Republic to the north and Benin Republic to the west have elevated the influx of illicit substances into the nation via Kebbi,” he stated.
