The Nigerian Copyrights Fee has raided bookshops and impounded pirated books worth N5 million throughout an inspection and monitoring of enterprise retailers in Makurdi metropolis in Benue State.
The NCC impounded books in two bookshops and a printing outlet inside Makurdi.
The group, which was led by the Benue State coordinator of the NCC, Thomas Mgbangun had six NCC officers, safety personnel, journalists and employees from the Metropolitan Publishers Restricted, College press restricted and Be taught Africa.
Three bookshops and 7 printing retailers have been visited inside Makurd by the group.
Mgbangun mentioned 1,133 books worth 5.6 million naira have been seized in the course of the train and one individual arrested.
