Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has mentioned the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is already serving its purpose because the Federal Authorities intensifies efforts to finish its Part One.

Umahi made the comment on Saturday throughout an inspection tour of the undertaking.

“I’m very wanting to see how we are able to absolutely full this Part One by April this 12 months, in order that we are able to have it absolutely commissioned – a stretch of Part One and a big a part of Part Two,” he mentioned.

He mentioned despite challenges, the contractor dealing with the undertaking was doing nicely and decided to beat deadlines.

Earlier, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olufemi Dare, instructed the minister that the contractor was encountering challenges at Chainage 34.

“The dredging operation is ongoing with a purpose to fast-track the method, and at any time when we finalise and we push the sand on high of water stage, we’re persevering with with sharp sand in addition to stone base,” Dare mentioned.
