Three officers of the Imo State Police Command have been arrested in the continued investigation ordered by the State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma over the viral video exhibiting how some officers of the Command raided college students’ hostels at Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, injuring some college students.
The spokesperson of the Command, DSP Henry Okoye, disclosed that the three officers recognized as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine and Corporal Ejikeme Victor had been arrested following their alleged involvement in the assault on the scholars’ hostel.
“The officers have been arrested and are presently in detention whereas the Command has commenced a radical investigation into their alleged involvement in cultism and different associated actions.
“Consequently, an Orderly Room Trial has been scheduled to begin on Monday,” he mentioned.
The Command nonetheless reiterated that the conduct displayed in the viral video is very unprofessional and doesn’t replicate the self-discipline, ethics, and values of the Nigeria Police Pressure.
It added that the result of the Orderly Room Trial can be communicated to the general public in due course.
