Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday met with President Bola Tinubu on the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The assembly adopted his return from Guinea-Bissau after a army takeover within the West African nation.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga confirmed Jonathan’s go to to the Villa in a publish on X on Saturday.
He wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu acquired former President Goodluck Jonathan on the Presidential Villa on Saturday on Jonathan’s return to Nigeria from Guinea-Bissau. President Jonathan went to the West African on an election monitoring mission. There have been issues about his security following a army takeover in Guinea-Bissau.”
DAILY POST reported that Jonathan arrived in Nigeria on Thursday night by way of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Worldwide Airport, Abuja, after being evacuated from Bissau.
A video of his arrival confirmed him stepping off an Ivorian authorities plane and being acquired by supporters and officers.
The previous president had travelled to Guinea-Bissau as head of the West African Elders Discussion board Election Commentary Mission for final Sunday’s presidential and legislative elections.
His workforce was nonetheless finishing up its project when troopers introduced they’d taken over the federal government, prompting issues about his security.
