The Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Occasion, PDP, Adolphus Wabara, has mentioned that Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has lost legitimacy to continue in office as governor following his resignation from the social gathering.
Wabara acknowledged this in response to Diri’s latest resignation from the PDP, and claiming to be with none social gathering for the time being.
The previous Senate President acknowledged that the motion of the Governor was at variance with the Structure of Nigeria.
He described the motion as unconstitutional, and mentioned Diri had disqualified himself from persevering with in office having left the social gathering whose mandate he is holding in belief.
In accordance to him, the Nigerian Structure had no provision for impartial candidacy for the time being, therefore any elected chief who dumps the platform that introduced him also needs to relinquish the office he occupies.
Wabara maintained that Bayelsa, for the time being, has no respectable Governor. “There isn’t any authorities in Bayelsa State. There’s no democracy in Bayelsa State. Our structure doesn’t accommodate impartial candidacy.
“For the Authorities to dump the social gathering that introduced him to energy and declare that he is ‘partyless’, is unconstitutional. Staying alone with no platform is an impeachable offense,” he mentioned.
