The Rivers State Authorities led by Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed claims that the official portrait of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was eliminated from Authorities House.
An announcement issued by the Everlasting Secretary of the Ministry of Data and Communications, Honour Kuru Sirawoo, described the allegation as “deceptive, irresponsible, and inflammatory.”
A report credited to 1 Bestman Harmless Amadi of the Rivers State Chapter of the Nationwide Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN had alleged that the governor disrespected President Tinubu by removing the portrait.
The allegation prompt that the Governor acted out of “ingratitude” towards the President.
Reacting, Sirawoo clarified that the Rivers State Authorities has no coverage, directive, or intention to disrespect the President or the Federal Authorities.
He emphasised that Governor Fubara presently maintains a “strong and collaborative relationship” with President Tinubu and the Federal Authorities’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is delivering tangible advantages to the state.
“The insinuation that the Governor acted out of disrespect is unsupported by verifiable information and must be discountenanced,” the assertion added.
The Everlasting Secretary additional expressed disappointment {that a} supposed youth group, anticipated to advertise unity and peace, would resort to “incendiary language, private assaults, and unsubstantiated claims.”
He warned that such rhetoric may undermine stability at a time when Rivers State wants calm, dialogue, and accountable management.
