Human rights activist, Dele Farotimi, has described former Rivers State governor and present Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as a “genius” in political recruitment, regardless of expressing private dislike for him.
In a publish on X Wednesday, Farotimi stated Wike demonstrated political shrewdness in his alternative of Siminalayi Fubara as successor, though he strongly criticized Fubara’s management.
“You need to applaud Wike’s recruitment genius, not query the Ijaw’s historic document of bravery. I don’t like Wike, there’s completely nothing to emulate or to eulogize in him, BUT on this matter of the Simpleton generally known as Fubara, I am persuaded to acknowledge his genius,” Farotimi wrote.
DAILY POST studies that Wike and Governor Fubara had been locked in a protracted political battle shortly after Fubara assumed workplace.
The rift led to the declaration of state of emergency within the state, with Fubara and his deputy suspended for six months.
Fubara has since been reinstalled as governor after President Bola Tinubu lifted the emergency rule final week.
