Political Economist, Prof Pat Utomi, has requested for the return of the Electoral Act 2026 to the Nationwide Meeting.
Talking throughout an interview on Channels Tv’s ‘The Morning Transient’, Prof Utomi charged the Nationwide Meeting to make legal guidelines that replicate what Nigerians want.
He was reacting to the Electoral Act Modification which was handed the Nationwide Meeting and signed into regulation by President Bola Tinubu barely 24 hours after its passage.
DAILY POST experiences that each the passage and the signing into regulation of the Electoral Act have sparked nationwide debates in varied quarters of the nation.
Airing his personal views, Utomi mentioned, “It’s crucial for progress in Nigeria that they return that so-called regulation to the Nationwide Meeting and make a regulation that displays what the Nigerian folks want.
“The final FCT Space Council elections, the place I feel the turnout was was one thing like 7% was the start of the last word indictment of politics in Nigeria.
