Abia State Governor Alex Otti has introduced Abia State’s 2026 budget of N1,016,228,072,651.99 to the State Home of Meeting for consideration.
The 2026 determine represents a 13 per cent improve from the 2025 appropriation numbers.
N811,813,769,862.24, representing 80 per cent of the whole outlay, shall be used for the execution of capital tasks, whereas N204,414,302,789.75, representing 20 per cent of the budget, shall be devoted to recurrent expenditures.
Presenting the 2026 budget on the ground of the Home on Tuesday, Governor Alex Otti mentioned the rise was to allow his administration to help important day-to-day administrative features and successfully meet obligations to personnel, particularly with the addition of hundreds of recent workers to the payroll.
He introduced that training will take 20 per cent of the budget, totalling N203.2 billion, whereas the health sector will once more take 15 per cent of the Abia State budget, amounting to N149.7 billion.
He promised that his administration would full ongoing tasks initiated through the earlier budget cycle, consolidate achievements made to date throughout numerous sectors, and proceed to provoke new people-oriented programmes.
