Edo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Jarrett Tenebe, has mentioned any commissioner barred from the State Government Council assembly for not wearing the ‘Asiwaju cap’ as directed by Governor Monday Okpebholo will likely be suspended from the social gathering.
DAILY POST remembers that Governor Okpebholo had, on October 14, whereas swearing in newly cleared commissioners and inaugurating boards and commissions, mandated members of his cabinet to demonstrate their loyalty to President Tinubu via branded outfits.
Tenebe described noncompliance with the governor’s directive as an act of indiscipline and insubordination, and warned that the social gathering would not tolerate any type of disloyalty.
“If you happen to refuse to put on the cap because the governor has directed, we are going to suspend you. That’s indiscipline and insubordination.
“We’re doing this as a result of we’ve got made a promise that 3.5 million votes are assured for President Bola Tinubu. All people has keyed into reaching that focus on.
“If, as a member of the APC, you bought an appointment, you’re supposed to be loyal to the President. We’re expressing our loyalty to him by wearing the cap. These complaining are not members of the APC. We in Edo have made it clear — no Asiwaju cap, no Exco,” he mentioned.
