A Federal Excessive Court sitting in Kano has sentenced a 41-year-old businessman named Abdulrahman Adam, to 3 years in jail for diverting a container loaded with items price hundreds of thousands of naira and forging Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) paperwork to evade statutory duties.
Adam, who resides within the Gwammaja space of Kano, was arraigned by Customs on a one-count cost of diversion and forgery, an offence opposite to Part 228(1) of the Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023. The defendant had pleaded responsible to the cost when it was learn to him in courtroom.
