Kano State Excessive Court No. 16, presided over by Justice Hafsat Yahaya Sani, has commenced listening to witnesses in the case of three people accused of kidnapping and homicide in Rano Native Authorities Space.
The defendants recognized as Hajara Sani, Ayatullahi Armaya’u, and Jibril Ado are alleged to have conspired in the kidnapping of Aliyu Haidar, collected a ransom of N2 million and subsequently killed him.
The state prosecutor Barrister Lamido Abba Sorondinki introduced the primary prosecution witness to help the fees in opposition to the accused individuals.
Defence legal professionals cross-examined the witness, whereas counsel to the primary defendant, Barrister Jamila Inuwa Sa’advert, requested the courtroom to offer a replica of the witness’s written assertion taken by the police.
Justice Hafsat Yahaya Sani granted the request and ordered that the defence legal professionals be given entry to all paperwork related to the case.
The courtroom adjourned proceedings to January 2, 2026 for continuation of trial.
