A deadly highway crash involving a trailer has claimed the life of 1 passenger and left 87 others injured on the Potiskum–Azare Street in Potiskum Native Authorities Space of Yobe State.
The accident occurred at about 2 pm on Wednesday on the Potiskum entrance roundabout when the trailer, which was conveying passengers to the Potiskum Cattle Market, misplaced steadiness and overturned.
In accordance with some survivors, the trailer was carrying near 100 folks from Katagum Native Authorities Space of Bauchi State to the cattle market when the incident occurred.
“We have been coming from Azare to the Potiskum Cattle Market. As we bought near the roundabout, the motive force tried to maneuver, and all of a sudden the trailer tumbled,” one of many survivors mentioned.
The injured victims have been rushed to the emergency unit of the Potiskum Specialist Hospital for medical consideration.
The Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the incident.
