Police in Anambra State say it has strengthened its security methods throughout churches and faculties in the state.
That is coming as faculties and churches in the northern components of the state have been attacked, worshipers killed and college students taken into captivity.
Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga in a press launch stated the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has introduced strengthened security measures throughout faculties and churches.
He stated that is a part of a proactive strategy to stop threats and guarantee a safe surroundings for studying and worship.
Ikenga stated: “The Commissioner has directed Space Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to accentuate their ongoing security patrols, reinforce intelligence-driven operations, and strengthen collaboration with group stakeholders for seamless and efficient security coordination.
“The Commissioner reiterated the Command’s unwavering dedication to defending lives and property, assuring residents that the Police will proceed to adapt and improve security methods to satisfy evolving challenges whereas sustaining the State’s rising environment of peace.
“The CP counseled the rising unity of security consciousness amongst residents, noting that Ndi Anambra have continued to exhibit commendable cooperation, vigilance, and the spirit of being their brothers’ keepers.
“He emphasised that this collective dedication has considerably supported the Command’s efforts in sustaining peace and security throughout the State,” he stated.
