The 4 oldest goal scorers in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, match have been unveiled.
CAF, in a publish by way of their web site on Friday, named Egypt legend Hossam Hassan because the participant who holds the report of the oldest goal scorer in AFCON history.
Hassan achieved the feat on the 2006 AFCON version when he scored towards DR Congo in their 4-1 win over the Leopards in the quarter-finals.
Hassan was 39 years and 5 months when he netted towards Congo.
Behind Hassan is Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who moved to second place on the checklist.
The previous Arsenal captain achieved the report on the age of 36 years and 6 months after he scored for Gabon in their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Mozambique on the ongoing AFCON in Morocco.
In third place is Zambia icon Kalusha Bwalya. At 36 years and 5 months, Bwalya scored on the 2000 AFCON match throughout their match towards Senegal.
He transformed a penalty in the 87th minute to assist his staff play a 2-2 draw towards Senegal in Lagos.
In fourth place is Equatorial Guinea’s Emilio Nsue. At 36 years and three months, Nsue joined the elite checklist after scoring a goal in Equatorial Guinea’s 3-1 loss to Algeria on the ongoing AFCON match in Morocco on Wednesday.
