The Nationwide Drug Legislation Enforcement Company, NDLEA, has debunked claims of a 2-kilometre airport in Argungu forest, describing the viral video as AI-generated.
NDLEA Kebbi State Commander, Rabiu A. Sokoto, instructed journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday that investigations revealed no such airport, forest, or people talked about in the video.
“We directed our officers to research the airport and the forest alleged for use for cocaine transport in Argungu, however discovered nothing,” Sokoto mentioned.
“The video is creating pointless alarm and deceptive the general public,” he added.
Kebbi State Commissioner of Data, Ahmed Yakubu, additionally condemned the video, calling it malicious and politically motivated.
He urged residents to ignore it, saying it was meant to discredit the state authorities.
