The Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee, INEC, has categorically refuted studies circulating in some quarters claiming that the fee has released the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 Normal Election.
The fee said clearly that this data is fake and deceptive, including that INEC has not released any timetable or schedule of activities for the 2027 Normal Election.
The fee reiterated that it operates strictly inside the provisions of the legislation, citing specifically, Part 28(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022 which offers that the Fee shall publish a Discover of Election not later than 360 days earlier than the date appointed for a basic election.
“Any timetable or schedule issued outdoors this statutory framework can’t emanate from INEC,” an announcement signed by Adedayo Oketola CPS/Media Adviser to the INEC Chairman, stated.
INEC assured Nigerians that the official Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 Normal Election might be released sooner or later, in full compliance with the Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and the Electoral Act, 2022.
“When released, will probably be communicated by the fee’s established and verified channels,” it added
The fee urged the general public and the media to ignore the faux studies and all the time depend on data from INEC’s official platforms for correct and authoritative updates.
