The top coach of the Tremendous Eagles, Eric Chelle, reportedly ignored Victor Osimhen’s pleas to proceed against DR Congo of their 2026 World Cup playoff on Sunday.
This was revealed by FlashScore editor, Shina Oludare.
Oludare claims he had breakfast with a member of the squad, who revealed Osimhen was determined to play on regardless of a slight hamstring harm.
However the Galatasaray striker was changed by Akor Adams with the rating at 1-1.
Oludare wrote on X: “Had breakfast with a member of the Tremendous Eagles technical crew this morning.
“He advised me Osimhen was begging to play within the second half regardless of the harm, however they turned him down to keep away from aggravating it with AFCON across the nook.
“But a few of you continue to come on-line to tweet pure jargon.”
